In days past, people generally associated the County Commissioner(s) with building and working the roads. Of course today the role of county government has expanded far beyond this single role to provide better and broader services to citizens. However, the Road Department plays a very major role in our every day lives as we and our family travel our county's roads.
Mark has extensive experience and training in designing roads, including grades, surfaces, and drainage. A lifetime of experience around construction, surveying, and grading will be very useful in providing improved and cost effective operations of the county road department. As both a Professional Land Surveyor and former County Surveyor (2000-2004 term), Mark is also very familiar with the complex scenarios of various road rights of way and easement situations.
